The current report

In Burnaby and New West, we're seeing Highway 91A heavy through Queensborough. Also heavy right now: Highway 1 through Burnaby, Highway 91, and the Queensborough Bridge.

Now the boring ones, in the best possible way: The Alex Fraser Bridge and the Port Mann Bridge are both running freely, so if you've got a choice of crossings, those are the ones moving at speed right now.

The player carries the whole station, every zone, in the order it airs. The text above is every mention of Highway 91 and 91A in the current cycle, unedited.

About this highway

Highway 91 runs from Richmond across the Alex Fraser Bridge through North Delta to Highway 17 and the Surrey side, with Highway 91A branching over the Queensborough Bridge into New Westminster. Locals name the bridges rather than the numbers; the signs say Highway 91 and 91A. The Alex Fraser is the whole story: seven lanes with a movable barrier, the free crossing everyone falls back on when the tunnel or the Port Mann stops, so this corridor is busiest for reasons that begin somewhere else. Mornings queue north over the bridge, afternoons south from the Queensborough and 91A side. The alternates are the Massey Tunnel to the west and the stal̕əw̓asəm (Riverview) Bridge to the east.

Questions

How current is the Highway 91 and 91A report?
Vancouver604 publishes a new cycle every fifteen minutes. The time at the top of the page is when the cycle you are reading was published, and the page, the JSON feed and the player all show the same cycle.
What does it mean when Highway 91 and 91A is not in the report?
That the station had nothing to say about it. Vancouver604 reports what drivers and the public road feeds are seeing; a highway that is moving is not mentioned, so a quiet page usually means a clear road.
Which zones cover Highway 91 and 91A?
Richmond / Delta, Burnaby / New Westminster and Surrey / White Rock / Langley. The crossing's report is drawn from every zone in the cycle, so it is found whichever side the station described it from.
Can I listen instead of reading?
Yes. Press play on this page or in the free iOS app, which also works in CarPlay so your hands stay on the wheel.
Is Vancouver604 an emergency service?
No. Vancouver604 is a community information service. In an emergency call 911. Never use your phone while driving.
