Delete your Vancouver604 account
This page explains how to delete your account in the Vancouver604 app for iPhone and Android, made by Temper Tantrum Studios Inc., and what happens to your information when you do.
In the app
On iPhone, open Settings, then Account, then Delete Account, and type DELETE to confirm. Your account is deleted straight away, whether or not you ever signed in.
On Android, open Settings, then Account, then Delete Account. On Android you only have an account if you signed in with Google; if you never signed in, there is no account to delete.
Without the app
Email hello@vancouver604.ca with the subject "Delete my account". Send it from the email address you signed in with, or tell us the phone number you signed in with, and say which sign-in you used: Apple, Google or phone. We'll confirm the request with you and delete the account within 30 days. We never ask for your password.
If you never signed in, your account belongs to the app on your phone and we have no way to tell it apart from anyone else's, so please delete it in the app.
What is deleted
Deleting your account deletes, straight away:
- your sign-in: the email address, phone number or Apple or Google account you used
- your profile and reputation score
- the traffic reports you submitted, with their notes, transcripts and map pins
- your confirmations and votes on other reports
- your push token and your Route alerts position
- the reporters you hid, and the feedback you sent from the app
- any badges and Road Ambassador records
- the phone number you linked for text-message reports
What is kept, and for how long
- The incidents your reports helped put on the map and on air stay in the public broadcast record. Your reports themselves are deleted, so nothing in that record links back to you.
- Ad playback records (which ad played, when and your app's random listener ID) are kept for up to 25 months, then deleted. For billing, we keep a monthly summary in which that ID is replaced by a one-way code that can't be traced back to you.
- Listening records (which zone you listened in and when, under the same listener ID) are deleted after 90 days.
The listener ID belongs to the app on your phone, not to your account, so deleting your account does not delete those two records early. They are not linked to your name, email or phone number.
