The current report

The station did not mention Highway 99, Vancouver and Richmond in this cycle. On Vancouver604 that is a statement, not an absence: a highway that is moving is not read out, so a quiet page usually means a clear road.

The player carries the whole station, every zone, in the order it airs.

About this highway

Highway 99 through Vancouver and Richmond: over the Oak Street Bridge, past Bridgeport and the airport turnoff and down the middle of Richmond to the mouth of the Massey Tunnel. Locals name the pieces rather than the highway, the Oak Street Bridge and Bridgeport most of all; the signs say Highway 99. It is the shortest of the Highway 99 segments and the one most often at a standstill, because it is squeezed between two bottlenecks it does not control, the four-lane Oak Street Bridge at one end and the four-lane tunnel at the other. Mornings queue north toward Vancouver, afternoons south toward Delta. The alternates are Highway 91 by way of the Alex Fraser and, for the airport, the Arthur Laing.
