The Causeway traffic right now

As of 6:15 pm Pacific, Friday 4 September, Vancouver604 did not mention the Causeway in this cycle, which on this station usually means it is moving.

The current report

The station did not mention the Causeway in this cycle. On Vancouver604 that is a statement, not an absence: a highway that is moving is not read out, so a quiet page usually means a clear road.

The player carries the whole station, every zone, in the order it airs.

About this highway

The Causeway is the three-lane road through Stanley Park that carries Highway 99 from Georgia Street to the Lions Gate Bridge, with the middle lane reversed to the rush direction exactly as the bridge is. Everyone says the causeway; the signs say Highway 99 and North Vancouver. It is not really a separate road from the bridge in practice, which is why the station often names them in one breath and why a paragraph about one appears on both pages: a queue on the causeway is a queue on the Lions Gate and the reverse is just as true. Mornings it runs south into downtown, afternoons north through the park. The alternate is the Ironworkers by way of Hastings and the Cassiar, longer in distance and frequently shorter in time.

Questions

How current is the Causeway report?
Vancouver604 publishes a new cycle every fifteen minutes. The time at the top of the page is when the cycle you are reading was published, and the page, the JSON feed and the player all show the same cycle.
What does it mean when the Causeway is not in the report?
That the station had nothing to say about it. Vancouver604 reports what drivers and the public road feeds are seeing; a highway that is moving is not mentioned, so a quiet page usually means a clear road.
Which zones cover the Causeway?
Vancouver / UBC and North Shore. The crossing's report is drawn from every zone in the cycle, so it is found whichever side the station described it from.
Can I listen instead of reading?
Yes. Press play on this page or in the free iOS app, which also works in CarPlay so your hands stay on the wheel.
Is Vancouver604 an emergency service?
No. Vancouver604 is a community information service. In an emergency call 911. Never use your phone while driving.
