About this crossing

The Cambie Bridge carries Cambie Street over False Creek between Mount Pleasant and downtown: six lanes, the newest of the three False Creek crossings and the one the SkyTrain runs beside rather than on. Locals say the Cambie Bridge; the signs say Cambie Street. It is the downtown crossing that carries event traffic, because both arenas sit at its north foot, so a game or a concert changes its evening entirely. Mornings it queues northbound from Broadway and 2nd, afternoons southbound from Smithe and Pacific. The alternates are the Granville Bridge to the west and Main Street or the Georgia Viaduct to the east, and all three back up together when the downtown grid does.

Questions

How current is the Cambie Bridge report?
Vancouver604 publishes a new cycle every fifteen minutes. The time at the top of the page is when the cycle you are reading was published, and the page, the JSON feed and the player all show the same cycle.
What does it mean when the Cambie Bridge is not in the report?
That the station had nothing to say about it. Vancouver604 reports what drivers and the public road feeds are seeing; a crossing that is moving is not mentioned, so a quiet page usually means a clear bridge.
Which zones cover the Cambie Bridge?
Vancouver / UBC. The crossing's report is drawn from every zone in the cycle, so it is found whichever side the station described it from.
Can I listen instead of reading?
Yes. Press play on this page or in the free iOS app, which also works in CarPlay so your hands stay on the wheel.
Is Vancouver604 an emergency service?
No. Vancouver604 is a community information service. In an emergency call 911. Never use your phone while driving.
