About this crossing

The Granville Bridge carries Granville Street over False Creek between Fairview and downtown: eight lanes, the widest of the three False Creek crossings and the only one that flies over Granville Island rather than touching it. Locals say the Granville Bridge; the signs say Granville Street. It is the crossing the West Side uses, so its morning queue forms northbound from Broadway and its afternoon one southbound from Howe and Seymour, and the ramps at the south end tangle with Fir and Hemlock in a way that surprises visitors. The alternates are the Burrard Bridge immediately west, which shares its approaches, and the Cambie Bridge to the east.

Questions

How current is the Granville Bridge report?
Vancouver604 publishes a new cycle every fifteen minutes. The time at the top of the page is when the cycle you are reading was published, and the page, the JSON feed and the player all show the same cycle.
What does it mean when the Granville Bridge is not in the report?
That the station had nothing to say about it. Vancouver604 reports what drivers and the public road feeds are seeing; a crossing that is moving is not mentioned, so a quiet page usually means a clear bridge.
Which zones cover the Granville Bridge?
Vancouver / UBC. The crossing's report is drawn from every zone in the cycle, so it is found whichever side the station described it from.
Can I listen instead of reading?
Yes. Press play on this page or in the free iOS app, which also works in CarPlay so your hands stay on the wheel.
Is Vancouver604 an emergency service?
No. Vancouver604 is a community information service. In an emergency call 911. Never use your phone while driving.
