The Oak Street Bridge traffic right now

As of 6:15 pm Pacific, Friday 4 September, Vancouver604 did not mention the Oak Street Bridge in this cycle, which on this station usually means it is moving.

The current report

The station did not mention the Oak Street Bridge in this cycle. On Vancouver604 that is a statement, not an absence: a crossing that is moving is not read out, so a quiet page usually means a clear bridge.

The player carries the whole station, every zone, in the order it airs.

About this crossing

The Oak Street Bridge carries Highway 99 over the North Arm of the Fraser between Marpole and Richmond: four lanes, no counterflow and a signal at the Vancouver end that meters everything coming off Oak Street. Everyone calls it the Oak Street Bridge; the signs say Highway 99. It is the busiest thing on this list because it is the funnel: everything heading for the Massey Tunnel, the airport turnoff and the ferry terminal passes over it, so the morning queue runs north from Bridgeport and the afternoon one south from 70th and Marine Drive. The alternates are the Arthur Laing for the airport and Richmond centre, the Knight Street Bridge for anything bound east and Highway 91 by way of Marine Drive when the tunnel is the real problem.

Questions

How current is the Oak Street Bridge report?
Vancouver604 publishes a new cycle every fifteen minutes. The time at the top of the page is when the cycle you are reading was published, and the page, the JSON feed and the player all show the same cycle.
What does it mean when the Oak Street Bridge is not in the report?
That the station had nothing to say about it. Vancouver604 reports what drivers and the public road feeds are seeing; a crossing that is moving is not mentioned, so a quiet page usually means a clear bridge.
Which zones cover the Oak Street Bridge?
Vancouver / UBC and Richmond / Delta. The crossing's report is drawn from every zone in the cycle, so it is found whichever side the station described it from.
Can I listen instead of reading?
Yes. Press play on this page or in the free iOS app, which also works in CarPlay so your hands stay on the wheel.
Is Vancouver604 an emergency service?
No. Vancouver604 is a community information service. In an emergency call 911. Never use your phone while driving.
