The Pitt River Bridge carries Lougheed Highway, Highway 7, over the Pitt between Port Coquitlam and Pitt Meadows: seven lanes on the cable-stayed bridge that replaced the two swing spans in 2009, with the Mary Hill Bypass and Highway 1 to the west and Maple Ridge and the Golden Ears Bridge approach to the east. Locals say the Pitt River Bridge; the signs say Lougheed Highway and Highway 7. Its rush is westbound in the morning as Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows head for the Mary Hill Bypass and the Port Mann, and eastbound from mid-afternoon, and it is the one road in and out for both communities, so a crash here has no short way around.
